(Madison) State Public Defender Nicholas L. Chiarkas has accepted an invitation to speak at the National Association of Pretrial Services Agencies (NAPSA) annual conference on September 18, 2006. The conference, conducted in Nashville, Tennessee, is the 34th annual conference of the NAPSA.
“I am honored to be a presenter at NAPSA’s upcoming conference. Pretrial efforts are of great benefit to the criminal justice system,” said Chiarkas.
NAPSA is the national professional association for the pretrial release and pretrial diversion fields. Its over 500 members come from 44 states, and consists of pretrial practitioners, judges, lawyers, resources and prosecutors.
This year's conference is entitled “Keeping in Tune with Criminal Justice” with a focus on the expanding interaction of pretrial with criminal justice initiatives, and self-development.
