Nancy C. Wettersten serves as Chief Legal Counsel in the Wisconsin
Department of Children and Families. Prior to joining DCF, she was in private
practice for over 20 years, concentrating in family law, juvenile law and
criminal defense. Nancy's interest in children's legal issues is a focus of
her teaching for both the State Bar of Wisconsin and the University of
Wisconsin Law School. She has served on the board of the Dane County Bar
Association and the Legal Association for Women. Nancy also served on the
Office of Lawyer Regulation's District 9 Investigative Committee for nine
years, and as Chair the past two years. She lives in Madison with her
daughter and far too many pets.
