
Gina M. Pruski began her career with the Wisconsin State Public Defender's Office in 1992 as a trial attorney in the Fond du Lac office. In 1995, she was promoted to Deputy Legal Counsel in Madison where she handled employment law and personnel-related matters and also served as the agency's liaison to the Legislature. In 2000, she transferred the agency's Office of Training and Development and in 2004, she was appointed Training Director. In addition to her duties as Training Director, Gina is the editor of the Wisconsin Defender, the agency's on-line legal journal.
Gina received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1989 and her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1992. She is also a graduate of Duke University's Strategic Leadership for State Executives Program.
Gina is co-author of the Wisconsin Juvenile Law Handbook, published by the State Bar of Wisconsin. She prepared the 1998 and 1999 supplements to the Handbook, and is presently writing the revised edition, scheduled for publication in the fall of 2004. Gina also wrote the juvenile law chapters of the State Bar's Annual Survey of Wisconsin Law in 1996, 1997, and 1998.
Gina was a state reviewer for the Federal Child and Family Services Review in August 2003. She serves on various committees including the Child Welfare Executive Steering Committee and the Wisconsin State Training Council. She also regularly volunteers as a moot court judge for the University of Wisconsin Law School.
