     Meet Your Auditor:

Kim is a Financial Specialist very well versed on eOPD and invoicing procedures. You have no doubt met her at the annual criminal defense conference during registration. She has single point responsibility for the certification of private bar attorneys.

In case you need to know

SPD Board member, James Brennan, recently suffered cardiac arrest. Please remember him in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Private Bar attorney Scott Obernberger just returned from a fabulous trip to Rome. He heartily recommends the tour, especially to history buffs.

    Private Bar Champions

Eau Claire Attorney John Bachman spent many hours prepping for a 980 case in Marinette County.  After diligently filing numerous motions, locating two experts with favorable reports, and having the good fortune to get a neutral/pro-defense opinion from Susan Sachensmeier, PhD, the Sexual Predator Evaluator changed his mind. Last minute, day before trial, thanks to John’s persistence, the State dropped the case.

A judge ordered Attorney Roberta Heckes to order medical records from three institutions. It  reaped rewards.  The DA accepted the client's prior mental health diagnosis from the medical records and stipulated to an NGI, saving about $1500 to have an evaluation done!  Sometimes little investments reap big rewards.
