Salary: Start between $16.902 - $27.889 per hour depending upon qualifications; plus excellent State of Wisconsin benefits.

Job Duties: Develop and conduct investigations of cases and devise procedures appropriate to the case; locate and interview witnesses; obtain sworn statements from witnesses as required; coordinate findings with the trial attorney; prepare legal documents in the form of affidavits and other evidence for submission to the court.

Qualifications: Knowledge of criminal investigation methods and techniques; interviewing techniques, and the criminal and juvenile justice system; effective investigative report preparation; and effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

This position involves extensive local travel. Successful candidates will possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, which must be maintained while they serve in the position. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required. Proficiency in Spanish and word processing are plusses. Well-qualified candidates will have several years of investigative experience or an associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related area.
